Hey Friends! If you are receiving this it means I have successfully moved my subscribers and friends (you) to a new publishing platform called Substack. I've been using Substack for a year to read articles from authors that I follow and some friends who are also using Substack. I hope that this transition was smooth for you and that you take advantage - of what I think - is a much better experience for reading and engaging with me. Best of all, it’s a better experience for me to write, so that should help me resume the frequency of my writing.
I’m also excited to share that I’ve got a new chat-based community powered by Substack. You need the Substack iOS app and then Click to join the chat.
The Tools
A few months ago I saw an Instagram ad for some products that were made my a company I’d never heard of called Hoto. They strike me as similar to Anker (popular power charges, cables and batteries) in that they have great design and found a niche of product category that are occupied by rather ugly and cheap products.
When I first learned of Hoto, they did not have a ton for sale on Amazon. But they have increased inventory. You can check out their entire catalog on their web site to see what they make.
Here are some of the products that I own
3.6V Screwdriver Kit
This is a nifty screwdriver that comes with a magnetic case that stores all the bits in there. Very compact and easy to store. There is a newer model but I prefer the design of this one. Also charges using USB-C!
Smart Kitchen Scale
I have tried a few different scales over the years and this one is my favorite by far. It’s fast, easy to use, easy to zero out, and is great for cooking and baking. This has replaced my Haro Japanese scale.
(currently not available on Amazon)
Flashlight Lite
Hoto makes a few flashlights, but the Flashlight lite is the best one. I like how it has a telescoping feature to narrow or widen the beam, a diffuser and it charges using USB-C PD.
Glue Gun
I have a Glue Gun that I use from time to time and it’s ugly and I hate it. I didn’t even know that I could have a nice Glue Gun till I saw the one from Hoto!
Hoto Tool Set
Hoto makes a ton of really neat tool sets. If I didn’t have so many tools already I might get this. If you are indeed of a tool set (say for an apartment, or separate floor of your house to have handy) this looks great.
There are so many more Hoto products that I want to check out like
35 In 1 Cordless Rotary Tool Kit - looks much better than my cordless Dremel
Enjoy!
