Niimbot Label Makers
Surprisingly inexpensive and useful - print labels 🏷️ directly from your phone 📱
A few years ago, I got frustrated with my label maker. They are clunky, hard to type on, always low on batteries and use funky label supplies. My search brought me to a company called Niimbot that makes these portable, battery operated (USB charge) thermal label makers.
They are cheap - so cheap I have a few of them with dedicated labels (transparent, white, cables) and around the house to deal with the friction and laziness involved in labeling anything.
The labels are waterproof and don’t require ink (thermal technology). There is a simple iOS app that you install and then pairs with your printer.
The labels have NFC tags so the printer knows what is in them. For example, these awesome labels for cables:
Niimbot makes a few models and I have two of them:
D110 (10-15mm labels) - newer model, USB-C charge
D11 (10-15mm labels) - original model, smaller, micro-USB charge
D101 (10-25mm labels) - for wider labels, USB-C charge
A few other models I don’t have
The iOS app connects and pairs quickly and, in a few seconds, you can produce a label that is durable and easy to apply.
At $20 - $30 per label maker, I have many of these in convenient locations always ready.
